College art exhibition showcases classical Chinese painting

A new exhibition has opened at the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing to offer a comprehensive overview of Chinese paintings created by students at colleges and universities nationwide.

Blooming: The Third National Fine Arts Exhibition of College Students, runs until Aug 2, and brings together nearly 300 paintings in the classical style that reflect social progress and concerns.

The exhibition, which features works by students from more than 100 colleges and universities, was first held in 2017 and hosted by the China Artists Association. The works fall into four thematic categories: New Visions of the Era, the Many Facets of Society, Cultural Lineage Behind Mountains and Waters, and Spiritual Resonance. Together, they form a multidimensional panorama of art and culture.
