More than 10 international visual creators and bloggers from nine countries, including the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, and Russia, began a tour in Shanxi province on Wednesday to learn about the Chinese architecture's evolution and aesthetics.
The tour began in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi province. Co-hosted by China Daily and Shanxi Daily, it is a supporting event of the International Cultural Heritage Protection Week, themed "Unity for Prosperity, Heritage for Eternity".
On the first day, the group visited the Jinci Temple, the oldest existing ancestral garden in China. The site preserves a complete complex of ancient buildings from the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties (960-1911) that offers a clear example of how architecture, painted sculptures, and landscaping evolved over the centuries.
