Thousands gather in Wuhan for latest Yangtze River crossing

A total of 107 rescue vessels patrolled the river, staffed by professional emergency teams. To counter the intense summer heat, fog cannons and cooling devices were arranged around the venue.

A senior official from the Wuhan Sports Bureau said that the cross-Yangtze event is far more than a sports competition — it embodies the city's enduring spiritual heritage.
