No Chinese casualties in Kuwait company building strike

No Chinese citizen was affected by the strike that hit a Chinese company building in Kuwait, the Foreign Ministry confirmed on Friday.

It is reported that an Iranian strike hit a building belonging to a Chinese company in northern Kuwait on Thursday morning, severely damaging the structure and killing a worker.

China believes that any attack on innocent civilians and nonmilitary targets is unacceptable, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning stressed at a regular news conference, while urging authorities in Kuwait to take effective measures to keep Chinese nationals and institutions there safe.

Immediately after the incident, the Chinese embassy in Kuwait reminded Chinese nationals and institutions in the country to raise risk awareness and take extra precautions, Mao added.

"We call on relevant parties to exercise restraint and continue properly resolving differences through dialogue and consultation so as to restore peace and stability in the gulf region at early date," she said.
