Peru announces resumption of diplomatic relations with Mexico

LIMA -- The governments of Peru and Mexico have decided to resume diplomatic relations, which had remained severed since November 2025, Peru's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday.
In a statement, Peru's foreign ministry said the two countries agreed to restore diplomatic ties "in consideration of the historic bonds of brotherhood, friendship and cooperation that unite Peru and Mexico."
