An 'ancient cultural melting pot' in northwestern Hebei

At the 2026 Conference on Hongshan Culture, Zhao Faxiang, a presenter from the Economic Life Channel of Hebei Radio and Television, sketched a vivid picture of the region over 5,000 years ago by showcasing precious artifacts such as jade items and painted pottery excavated in northwestern Hebei. He demonstrated that far from being a cultural margin, the region served as an "ancient cultural melting pot" where various regional cultures of early Chinese civilization converged and blended. He noted that the Hongshan ancestors brought their dragon worship and ritual traditions to this region, where they deeply integrated with Central Plains civilization. Together, they formed the early "unity in diversity" pattern of Chinese civilization and laid a deep prehistoric foundation for the sense of community for the Chinese nation. #HongshanCulture #CulturalJourney
