1 killed, 4 injured in US Kentucky shooting

NEW YORK -- One person was killed and four others injured Saturday evening in a shooting at a park in Lexington, Kentucky, local media reported, citing the police.

According to Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers, the shooting took place at Charles Young Park in the city's downtown, where five people were shot.

The injured were a 4-year-old, a 14-year-old, and two adults. All were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, Weathers said.

A large police presence remained in downtown Lexington Saturday night, with several surrounding roads closed, as officers continued their investigation, said the reports.

Authorities have not released any information about a suspect or the deceased. No arrests have been made.
