Jieyang's logistics and e-commerce sector generated 86.25 billion yuan ($12.9 billion) in output last year, up 8.79 percent year-on-year. The city's express delivery volume hit 5.29 billion parcels, a rise of nearly 20 percent. In the first four months of this year, the sector reached 30.81 billion yuan, up 18.6 percent.
The figures reflect a concentration of logistics activity unusual even by Guangdong province standards. Junpu village alone has gathered more than 200 physical wholesale stores and nearly 4,000 online shops, forming a dense domestic e-commerce cluster within a single community.
