Yearbook of Chinese Art reviews developments in 2025

How many art exhibitions did you visit last year, and which left the deepest impression on you?

The Yearbook of Chinese Art 2025 has unveiled a selection of exhibitions recommended by members of the art community. Among them is Black Myth: Wukong, presented at the Art Museum of China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. The exhibition traces the evolution of an original concept into a groundbreaking video game.

Another highlight is Ink Splendor and Cultural Context: Gansu Silk Road Art Treasures Exhibition, a collaboration between the National Art Museum of China and cultural institutions in Gansu province. It brought some of the province's finest cultural artifacts to Beijing, offering visitors a glimpse into the exchanges that flourished along the ancient Silk Road.

Recently released by the China Artists Association and published by People's Publishing House, The Yearbook of Chinese Art 2025 reviews developments in China's art scene across six sections, covering areas such as exhibitions, art market performance, publications and art theory.
