The Lise Meitner Programme, named after physicist Lise Meitner, was initiated by IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi in 2023. It aims to provide early- to mid-career female professionals in the nuclear field with opportunities for study visits to develop their technical and management skills. Since its inception, the program has been held in the United States, Japan, Canada, South Korea, Russia, and Australia, with over 100 female nuclear energy professionals from 45 countries and regions participating. Harbin Engineering University is the first university in China to host the program.
