The 2012 Datong International Auto Show will open on August 23. In addition to exhibiting new cars and classic automobiles, the show will also present many fine cultural items and activities such as paper cutting, inkstone, cross-stitching, and coal carving.
To add more glamour to the show, these products and activities will be carefully displayed to highlight Datong's historic cultural elements. For example, the show will offer paper cutting designs that recreate the scenery of famous local attractions such as the Yungang Grottoes, Xuankong Temple, and the Wall of Nine Dragons.
In order to align with the show's theme, the inkstones on display will maintain a classical design and carving aesthetic, while adding some automobile elements. There will be many unique car-shaped inkstones which visitors will find well worth collecting. In addition, the cross-stitch patterns on hand will exhibit a folk art charm by combining the auto culture with native culture.
Auto China International Limited, one of the organizers, has provided models for 10 types of world-renowned cars which will be on display at the show. The automobiles have been specifically chosen for their fine craftsmanship. The event will give auto fans a great opportunity to appreciate and enjoy these world-renowned machines as well as Datong's rich culture.
