May 17, 1988: First Automobile Works and Audi entered into the Technology Transfer & License Contract on Manufacturing Audi Cars at FAW, under which a total of 499 Audi 100s would be manufactured.

Nov 20, 1990: FAW and Volkswagen signed, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, an agreement on establishing a joint venture with an annual production capacity of 150,000 cars.

1990: The FAW-Audi car assembly line was established.

1991: FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co, Ltd was established.

Dec 18, 1995: FAW, Volkswagen and Audi entered into a tripartite joint venture agreement, marking the formal inclusion of Audi cars in the scope of the company's production.

May 20, 1996: The first Audi 200 rolled off the assembly line.

Sept 6, 1999: The Audi A6 (CS) rolled off the FAW-Volkswagen assembly line, becoming the first super-stretched limousine manufactured in China.

May 2001: The Audi A8, Audi's flagship model, was released in the Chinese market.

Feb 21, 2003: The Audi A4 (B6) was put into production in China; it was Audi's first premium B-class model to be produced in China.

April 8, 2005: The all-new CKD A6L (C6) was officially released in Shanghai.

Oct 25, 2005: The all-new CKD A4 (B7) was announced to hit the market in China.

Jan 2006: FAW-VW Audi Sales Division was established in Changchun.

July 11, 2006: The premium SUV Audi Q7 made its official debut.

Nov 18, 2006: The all-new Audi TT was officially released in the Chinese market.

March 2007: The 100,000th Audi A6L rolled off the assembly line at the FAW-Volkswagen No 1 Sedan Factory.

2007: Audi became the first premium car brand to reach annual sales of 100,000 units, selling a total of 100,888 cars in the year.

Jan 17, 2008: The Audi R8 Spyder hit the Chinese market.

Nov 2008: FAW-VW Audi officially released the all-new CKD Audi A4L.

Oct 29, 2009: The Audi Q5, which combined innovative Audi design and world-leading technology, made its official debut.

March 20, 2010: FAW-VW Audi Sales Division announced the official release of the CKD Audi Q5.

Oct 20, 2010: FAW-VW Audi celebrated its 1,000,000th sale in Changchun. After 22 years of constant endeavor and expansion, Audi became the first premium auto brand with a cumulative sales volume of one million units in the Chinese market.

Oct 30, 2010: FAW-VW, Audi and Tongji University jointly launched the Audi-Tongji Joint Lab.

Feb 28, 2011: The all-new state-of-the-art flagship Audi A8L hit the Chinese market.

April 19, 2011: The keenly expected star model Audi Q3 makes its global debut at the Shanghai Auto Show.

Aug 3, 2011: The Audi R8 Spyder Matrix was unveiled at Beijing's The Place.

Aug 18, 2011: The Audi flagship model A8L W12 was released in Guangzhou.

Oct 9, 2011: A grand launch celebration was held for the Audi A1 series at the Beijing National Stadium.

Nov 19, 2011: The Audi A7 Sportback, a premium 4-door sport sedan, hit the Chinese market.

2002 - 2011: Audi ranked first in the J.D. Power Sales Satisfaction Index and China Customer Service Index for the tenth consecutive year, becoming the most customer-preferred brand in China's automobile market.

2011: FAW-VW Audi sold a total of 309,888 automobiles, up 80,000 units or 37.4% year on year, and renewed their single-month sales records after eight months, with November sales reaching a historical high of 29,588 units, further outshining competitors.

Feb 28, 2012: The new Audi A5 and S5 series were officially released at Beijing's 798 Art Zone.

March 28, 2012: The all-new Audi A6L made its official debut in Guangzhou.

Q1 2012: FAW-VW Audi sold a total of 89,000 cars, up 41% y/y, with sales in March alone reaching 31,000 cars, up 37.8% y/y, renewing the "Best Performing Quarter" and "Best Performing Month" records.

April 23, 2012: FAW-Volkswagen and Audi brought the Audi A6L e-tron, Audi Q3 Jinlong Yufeng Concept and Audi RS Q3 Concept to the Beijing Auto Show for their international debut.

July 25, 2012: The premium Audi Q3 SUV was launched at the Guangzhou Stadium.

Aug 8, 2012: The new Audi A4L was officially released in Qingdao.

2012: FAW-VW Audi once again topped the J.D. Power SSI and China CSI, beating all other premium car brands.

Sept 8, 2012: The all-new Audi A8L 30 FSI, 55 TFSI Quattro and S8 were officially launched.

Nov 8, 2012: FAW-VW Audi’s sales topped 330,000 (330,582) cars in the first ten months, exceeding the total sales of 2011 (309,888 units), up 31.6% y/y.

Nov 11, 2012: The Audi R8 China Edition, the first mass-produced Audi model featuring Chinese characters in its interior decoration, was released at the Shanghai Audi International Circuit.
