CHANGCHUN - Police have captured a man suspected of killing his wife and seven others in northeast China's Jilin province, the provincial public security authorities said Sunday.
Jiang Chun, 48, was apprehended at about 8 am in the town of Jinbaotun, Tongliao city, in northern Inner Mongolia autonomous region, where he fled.
Jiang is suspected of killing the eight in the town of Fumin, Huinan county on March 26. The victims include a local family and a baby barely one year old, according to the public security authorities.
Police are investigating the motive of the killings.
The Ministry of Public Security had offered 50,000 yuan ($8,000) for information leading to the man's arrest.
