BEIJING - Chinese top political advisor Jia Qinglin met with visiting Thai Princess Sirindhorn in Beijing on Thursday.

Applauding the development of China-Thailand relations, Jia said China and Thailand have a profound and traditional friendship. He added that both sides have established deep mutual political trust and enjoyed substantial cooperation in various fields since the two countries forged diplomatic relations 37 years ago.
He also highly praised the role that the Thai royal family has played in promoting the China-Thailand friendship.
Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), told the Thai princess that China values its ties with Thailand highly, and will continue its efforts to continue the progress of the bilateral relations.
Sirindhorn voiced her high appreciation of the achievements China has made in its national economic and social development, promising to continue to contribute her efforts to the development of China-Thailand friendship.
Sirindhorn is paying a four-day visit to China from April 3 to 6 at the invitation of the Chinese government.
