Driver charged with homicide in toll collector's death

A driver blamed for the death of a toll collector has been charged with intentional homicide, the Beijing News reported on Wednesday.

Li Gexiang, 50, a native of Hebei province, had a argument with a toll collector surnamed Zhu over the fee at Zhaoxindian toll station in Beijing's Fengtai district on July 18.

When Zhu moved in front of Li's truck, Li ran over him, dragging his body around 7 meters, according to the report.

Zhu, who worked on the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, died later that day in a hospital.

Li turned himself in to police the same day.
