Starting from September 1948, the heads of the democratic parties in Hong Kong went in succession to the liberated areas to participate in preparatory work for the new political consultative conference. Taken in Shenyang, the picture shows Shen Junru (1st L), Li Jishen (2nd L) and Guo Moruo (4th L), who reached the liberated areas in January 1949. In February 1949, some democratic people from Hong Kong who were going to the liberated areas took a group photo on the ship. Liu Yazi (middle row, 2nd L), Chen Shutong (middle row, 3rd L), Ma Yinchu (middle row, 1st R), Zheng Zhenduo (back row, 3rd R) and Ye Shengtao (back row, 2nd R), to name a few.
