A young man died after pushing his girlfriend to save her from an oncoming truck carrying 40 tons on Oct 2 in Xinyang, Henan province. The woman was bringing him home for the first time to meet her parents, cnr.cn reported.
Holiday for scenic spots?
An article posted on eastday.com called for the country to close scenic spots during the annual golden week. About 175,000 visitors flocked to Imperial Palace on one day during this National Day holiday, raising concerns over the impact on cultural relics, it said. The article was forwarded more than 2,500 times on Weibo.

Forest for the temples
