The embassy of Ireland and all the Irish State agencies in China recently launched an "Ireland in China" Sina Weibo micro blog account. With the aim to bring Ireland and China closer together, the micro blog shares news about education, tourism, visa issues, food, culture and investment opportunities. Many embassies have opened accounts on social media in recent years, to make it convenient to be interactive with Chinese netizens. "It will be an authoritative source of up-to-date information about our country. We hope more and more Chinese netizens will 'be social with Ireland' and follow us," says Paul Kavanagh, ambassador of Ireland.
