Expat mixer at Dr Beer

The focus is on expats from the United States and Canada but all nationalities are welcome for InterNations' first big bash of 2014. This networking event is being held at a trendy spot in the former French Concession and could prove worth the money for newbies looking to enlarge their social circle or improve their job prospects. Tickets cost 150 yuan and include pizza slices and grilled sausages, among other snacks, plus two drinks. Those lucky enough to get a private table can enjoy their own beer taps, at regular cost.

Macao

The Rolling Stones

The iconic Rolling Stones will be in Macao for one of two dates in China after three sold-out shows in Tokyo. Only VIP tickets are left for the elderly statesmen of rock 'n' roll's Macao rendezvous before they head to the Mercedez-Benz Arena in Shanghai.
