IQiyi, one of China's biggest video-streaming websites, recently signed strategic cooperation agreement with Skyworth, the nation's major TV manufacturer based in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.
The agreement will allow iQiyi to offer its contents for VIP users to be preset in smart TV devices, which are connected to cyberspace, of Skyworth. And, the two parts are also to jointly develop a new smart TV brand.
The mobile device users of iQiyi have surpassed 330 million, making it the third-largest mobile device app in China, and its VIP users are more than 20 million. Skyworth has 6.52 million daily active users.
According to Gong Yu, CEO of iQiyi, the move will set an example for future in-depth cooperation between TV manufacturers and internet industries.
