China's Xinjiang cultural features introduced in Laos

China's Xinjiang cultural features have been introduced in Laos during a lecture on "Discovering the mystery of Xinjiang" held Monday in Lao capital Vientiane.

During the lecture, Li Wenying, Deputy Director of Xinjiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology introduced to the audience the geographical characteristics of Xinjiang and the overview of multicultural integration of the Silk Road in Xinjiang, among others.

Li Wenying has involved in archaeological excavations and research work about Xinjiang for over 20 years.

The lecture, co-organized by Department of Culture of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and National Heritage Department of Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, as well as Chinese Culture Center in Laos, drew the attention of some 80 participants from Laos and China.

Apart from the lecture, a "China's Xinjiang Culture Week" is being held in Vientiane and central Savannakhet province from Monday to Thursday, as among activities to enhance the friendship between the two peoples as well as to promote exchanges and cooperation between China and Laos.
