Soprano Lin Lin held recital at Beijing Concert Hall recently, celebrating her graduation from China Conservatory of Music.

Coming from Bai ethnic group of Yunnan province, Lin sang folk songs from Dai and Yi ethnic groups as well as pop folk songs with her own interpretation at the concert.

Lin's father and grandfather were all Peking Opera performers, which enabled the soprano to learn singing at an early age. At her concert, she also performed modern Peking Opera songs, dedicating to her family.

Lin said she wants to mix Chinese folk singing with modern pop tunes, which, she believes, could help some old tunes be heard by young generation.
