7. Strawberry

Dandong’s warm climate and heavy rainfall make it is a great place for strawberries, which can be cultivated in Donggang, Fengcheng, Kuandian, and the Zhen’an, Zhenxing, and Yuanbao districts.

Strawberry planting has had years of development and they are now grown on 110,000 mu (7,300 hectares) of land and account for more than 81 percent of the province’s total. Total output is 150,000 tons, or more than 10 percent of the nation’s total. Dandong has become the nation’s largest strawberry production and export base.
