The Shanxi Coal Transportation and Sales Group Co Ltd and China Datang Corp held a meeting on May 9 in Beijing, to discuss a strategic partnership and agreed to cooperate in coal-electricity integration and coal logistics and supply.

A long-term strategic partnership will be established, and a special team set up to handle the process. Shanxi Coal Transportation has a number of coal mines in various places that contain different types of coal and has a vast amount of sales and logistics experience. It has been increasing its power in a merger with the Shanxi International Electricity Group Ltd.

The China Datang Corp has power plants, some still under construction and has a great deal of electric power expertise, in operations and management, as well as environmental protection, and an annual need of more than 200 million tons of coal.

There are obvious advantages in the cooperation.
