Nankai University students who participated in 2014 summer overseas study tour program attended Oxford University, Cambridge University, University of California-Berkeley, and University of British Columbia, Canada for one month of exchange learning, a report found.
This year 57 students are participating in four-week summer courses at Oxford University and Cambridge University. Studying, room, and board are all on campus. Students can take economy, management, law, international policies, natural science, and English language as an elective course. The credits for selected courses can be transferred to 3.5 credits accepted by Nankai University.
The summer overseas study tour program is more diversified this year compared to previous years, according to staff from Nankai University’s international academic exchanges department. This diversity includes types of programs students are participating in and majors they are pursuing.
International universities involved in the program include Oxford University, Cambridge University, University of California-Berkeley, University of California, Los Angeles, University of British Columbia, Canada, Ritsumeikan University, National Tsing Hua University, and Taiwan's National Chengchi University among others. The summer programs aim to help students obtain more credits.
Nankai University has partnerships with many famous overseas universities where students can spend time studying abroad. During Nankai University’s summer semester, the university organized 19 summer credit and camp programs. More than 200 students (doubled compared to last summer vacation) participated in the activities.
