University in Tianjin develops brain-controlled driving

A research team led by Duan Feng, vice professor of the Nankai University Computer Science and Control Engineering School launched a beta test of brain-controlled automobiles in Tianjin on July 15.

The test controller wore a signal collector with 16 collecting points around the head. The orders were given to an automobile with a computer operating system and electronic control elements in the format of electroencephalogram.

The test controller completed orders including starting the engine, driving ahead, backing up, slowing down, and locking and unlocking the door.
