Tianjin releases September CPI report

This September, Tianjin’s consumer price index (CPI) dropped 0.1 percent quarter-to-quarter, increased 1.6 percent year-to-year, and dropped 0.9 percent from August, according to the National Statistics Bureau.

The CPI in Tianjin increased 1.7 percent from January to September.

The price for food increased 2.3 percent year-to-year and dropped 0.8 percent from August. The price for non-food products increased 1.3 percent year-to-year and dropped one percent from August. Five categories of products saw increased prices and two saw declines.

The price for cigarettes and liquor, clothes, living, household appliances and repair, entertainment and education commodities and services increased four percent, 3.1 percent, 2.9 percent, 1.3 percent, and 1.1 percent respectively.

The price for transportation and communications dropped 2.3 percent. The price of medical and health services dropped 0.3 percent.
