Tianjin has successfully exported the bio-organic fertilizer for the first time to Australia, a country with strict standards for fertilizer qualities, reported people.com.cn.

Weighing about 20 tons, the first batch of bio-organic fertilizer was tested and approved by the Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area.

Staff at the bureau studied Australia’s fertilizer requirements in advance and set out specific testing standards for the bio-organic fertilizer made in Tianjin.

To learn about manufacturing techniques, the bureau sent technicians to the fertilizer manufacturer to analyze the potential risks of export.

Sampling checks were also conducted to guarantee the quality of the bio-organic fertilizer.

Bio-organic fertilizer is made of the remains of plant and animal waste. It is more environmentally friendly and makes plants more disease-and-pest resistant.
