Tianjin got its first foreign-invested Internet financial platform -- Meiliantou -- recently in its free trade pilot zone airport district, for dealing with financing problems with US and domestic capital for micro-to-small agricultural business development.
One of the site's officials explained that rural households can use it to report local investment needs and provide information online, so that money can be acquired in only a day or two after approval, and concluded, "It used to take half a month to complete a foreign capital transfer, but now the pilot zone policy improves efficiency by 80 percent.”
For the moment, Meiliantou is working with a small loan company affiliated with the Tianjin Women's Federation to provide more services for rural women who want to start their own business with funding and with sales channels for local farm products.
