A Sino-Canadian international children's hospital will settle in the high-tech industry district of Tianjin, providing area children and residents a more convenient and qualified health service facility.

The hospital will be located at the southeast corner of Ninth Avenue and West Zhonghuan Road. It will cover more than 230,000 square meters—north to Huashan Road, south to Huangshan Road, east to Jihai Road, and west to Ninghai Road.

The hospital, a cooperation program conducted by the Hospital for Sick Children in Toranto and Tianjin High-Tech District, will be a general hospital meeting international standards, in which medical treatment, rehabilitation, scientific research, and teaching can all be conducted.

The Hospital for Sick Children and its Tianjin counterpart will hold several exchange activities throughout the first five years of the new hospital being open, during which the Tianjin government intends to offer CAD$1.75 million ($1.3 million) per year.

Citizens in the area showed their excitement for the new hospital during a heated discussion on Binhai BBS. A user named zhangxinkan wrote "Looks nice!" and user Amazingid posted "Hope it can open soon."

Many users expressed their support for the international cooperation aspect of the project. A user called Bohaixinfeng added "if some international exchange schools or colleges can settle here, it would be so fantastic."

The hospital also plans to establish a world-class pediatrics department and pediatric clinical college, in the hopes of turning the hospital into the premier pediatrician cultivation center in China.
