The 5th Palm Oil Health and Nutrition Forum was held in Tianjin on August 10, with about 250 experts from China and Malaysia in attendance.
The forum aimed to increase knowledge of palm oil nutrition and raise awareness of the oil to improve its market acceptance and area.

The forum offered a platform for research institutions and companies from China and Malaysia to communicate about palm oil, including scientific achievements related to it, and its uses and future development.
At present, palm oil is widely used in cooking, the food industry and animal feeding in China. With its high nutrition and moderate cost, it may decrease diseases caused by vitamin A deficiency with no harm to people's cholesterol metabolism.

In addition, palm oil, a "super antioxidant", is helpful in radiation protection and prevention of cardiovascular disease.
The event was sponsored by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board, the Malaysian Palm Oil Council, the Academy of Nutrition of Tianjin and the Julong Group.
