On Dec 24, candidates began their final preparations whilst waiting for the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination in Nankai University examination hall. Major changes in postgraduate study set to begin in 2017 meant the new regulations included on-the-job graduates in the examination for the first time. This also meant that full-time and part-time postgraduate entrance examinations were combined into one examination, leading to a substantial increase in the number of applicants, enrollments and participants.
