Zhongguancun enterprises have established 962 subsidiaries in Tianjin and Hebei province, in new moves to develop the nationally important science park and to boost the synergetic development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province as well.

"We can save costs in hiring workers and paying rents," said Yin Fei, a manager of a company engaged in developing green building materials in Zhongguancun Science Park. His company decided to establish a new branch specializing in producing graphene materials in Baoding Zhongguancun Innovation Center in Hebei province.

The Baoding center, set up in April 2015, has attracted 86 hi-tech companies, half of which are headquartered in Beijing.

Tianjin (Binhai) Zhongguancun Science Park, established last November, will also fully use the advantages of Zhongguancun Science Park in Beijing to push forward high-tech transformation and significant technological achievements in Tianjin.

The branches of Zhongguancun in Hebei and Tianjin are all expected to become important platforms for the balanced and integrated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.

Since 2016, Zhongguancun branches in this large, heavily populated region have organized dozens of industry matchmaking events between hi-tech companies and manufacturers, helping more than 1,000 companies to build cooperative relationships.
