On Oct 11, 2017 the National women's Volleyball Championship ended in Taicang in Jiangsu province. Tianjin's women's volleyball team defeated the Shandong team with scores of 25-16, 25-21, 21-25 and 25-18 to win the championship.

After the 13th National Games which were held in August, Tianjin's women's volleyball team changed its line-up.

Veteran members Wei Qiuyue, Wang Qian, Zhang Xiaoting, Yin Na and coach Wang Baoquan announced their retirement. The new coach, Chen Youquan, ready to guide his new disciples, is now part of the team.
