In a recent campaign to clean up restaurants throughout the city, Beijing gives ratings from A to D to its 30,000 restaurants. Grade A means they have passed the most stringent standard, while grade D means failure and closure.

Priced from about 50 yuan ($6.5) to 290,000-yuan ($38,233), Olympic memorabilia sales in China are booming and even exorbitant prices are not deterring enthusiasts.

It is expected that sales of Olympic memorabilia will reach 8 billion yuan ($1.05 billion) by 2008.
