Editor's note: You must have seen strangers eating on mass transit. Might've been tasty, but not a pleasant traveling experience. What's your take: do you mind seeing people eating a sandwich on the bus or a commuter train? Should a no-food rule be enforced?

I consider it uncivilized when people eat food while working in a shop with customers present, and of course it is uncivilized to eat on public transport.

I’ve lived in China for quite a considerable time including my graduate school years, travelled and worked in a few cities and still choose my destination taking into consideration the density of smog or PM2.5 particulate matter in the region.
