Is it selfish to take a child on a long-haul flight?

I feel the pain. Every time my holiday starts from the moment you sit on the plane and let out that sigh of relief. I have left work behind; left all the stresses behind; and then I take off and all of the sudden I either get kick in the back of my seat or I get the wailing.
