MOSCOW - Chinese sprinter Zhang Peimeng cut his own national record to 10.00 seconds in the semifinal of men's 100m race at the 2013 IAAF World Championships on Sunday.
The 26-year-old Zhang finished fifth in the group and failed to enter the final.
"It's not a surprise for me to break the national record since I have already proved myself in the 100. I feel I still have room to improve and I can do better next time," Zhang said.
