Vice Mayor meets with minister of intellectual property of the UK

On September 4th, Zhao Wen, vice mayor of Shanghai, interviewed Baroness Neville Rolfe and her party at the Municipal Government.

They exchanged opinions on the intellectual property protection and cooperation between Shanghai and the United Kingdom. LU Guoqiang, director general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration kept company with them in the meeting.

Vice Mayor Zhao Wen indicated that, the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attached great importance on intellectual property work, and formulated strategic outlines for medium and long-term development.

At present, Shanghai is taking the construction of the Pilot Free Trade Zone and the comprehensive supporting reform at Pudong as a wonderful opportunity to positively explore and boost intellectual property administrative management and law enforcement mechanism reform.

The Shanghai Intellectual Property Court will also be founded with a nameplate. Shanghai would like to learn and utilize British intellectual property protection and management experience as reference, and hopes both parties will realize further cooperation regarding talent cultivation and international exchange.

Minister Neville Rolfe praised the achievements of Shanghai in its economic construction and urban development, and she thought the intellectual property work in Shanghai could prove the level of an international metropolis.

She indicated that, the British government highly valued innovation and intellectual property, and hoped both parties could strengthen cooperation and exchange, and jointly propel the development of the intellectual property career toward a higher level.

When visiting Shanghai, Baroness Neville Rolfe, minister of British intellectual property, attended the Global Intellectual Property and Innovation Summit held by British magazine Intellectual Property Management and the Sino-British (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Intellectual Property Policy Seminar.

LU Guoqiang, director general of Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, also attended the above activities and introduced the intellectual property protection and management situation about China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and answered the questions of participating representatives.
