China's snooker ace Ding Junhui won the annual Championship League Snooker tournament after beating previous winner Judd Trump 3-1 in the finals on Friday.
Ding booked a coveted place in this year's Premier League which gets underway in August after an outstanding snooker performance at Crondon Park Golf Club in Essex.
The 24 year-old Chinese had earlier won the seventh and final qualifying group of the event on Wednesday and triumphed in the final champions group.
"I'm very pleased to have won this. It's always good to win but chances to qualify for the Premier League were running out with just Beijing and Sheffield to go. It's great match practice and my form over the four days this week was good," said Ding.
Ding will now head back to his homeland for the China Open in Beijing this week.
The mudslide occurred at an iron ore mine in the Araltobe township of Xinyuan county, Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture, a spokesman for the prefecture's fire brigade said.
