MANILA - A Filipina-Chinese who was kidnapped last month was found dead in the northern Philippine province of Laguna, local police said Thursday.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Spokesman Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz said the body of Leah Ng, wife of an executive of the Gaisano supermarket, was discovered after one of the previously-arrested suspects, Regie Santiago, led policemen to the site.

Cruz said they arrested Santiago Wednesday night. Santiago, in turn, led the policemen to an abandoned warehouse where they recovered the body of Ng at the oil bunker.

Ng's body was brought to the Crime Laboratory in Camp Crame, Quezon City for autopsy.

The victim was last seen alive on Jan 20 at the UCC Building in Corinthian village in Quezon. Chief Supt. Isagani Nerez, who heads the PNP's anti kidnapping group, said Ng was snatched by a group of suspects last Jan 20.
