VLADIVOSTOK, Russia - Russia's Primorsky Krai is planning to take advantage of the upcoming APEC meetings to draw investment for the region's development.
The regional administration said Thursday it would present 32 investment projects during the series of conferences of Asia-Pacific economies, which are to be held early September in Vladivostok, the administrative center of Primorsky Krai.
The projects, covering port and logistics infrastructure, small aircraft, shipbuilding and agriculture among others, are aimed at boosting the socio-economic development of the region.
Regional authorities added that Primorsky Krai would be represented at the meetings by a delegation of 70 people, including regional administration officials and corporate executives.
Delegations of the APEC members and leaders of bigname companies are expected to attend the conferences.
This will be the first time for Russia to host the top-level APEC gatherings. The Russian government has allocated about 600 billion rubles (about $18.8 billion) to prepare for the events.
