Premier Li Keqiang called to strengthen the authority and effectiveness of the World Trade Organization amid its reforms, when meeting with leaders of six key international organizations, such as the WTO, on Tuesday.
All WTO members share a mission to curb unilateralism and protectionism, which should also be an essential part of the institution's reforms, Li said.
China supports necessary reforms and improvements for the WTO and strengthen the effectiveness of the organization while keeping its authority, he said. Trade liberalization should be adhered to along with its basic principles such as openness, transparency, inclusiveness and non-discrimination, the premier said.
