Koch was among 26 students who topped their classes this year. "I am so happy. I never expected this recognition although I had promised my father that I would improve my position this term," she said.
Simba Arati, the parliamentary representative for the area, commended the Chinese association and said the move is an indication of their commitment to integrate with and support the local community.
He noted that the move to invest in the school would go a long way in motivating the students and teachers to excel in education.
