ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions (ZEISS IQS), a leading German optical and optoelectronic technology company, has recently showcased its latest products at the 18th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT).

The exhibition highlights the latest trends in digital interconnection, industrial software, green production & emission reduction, and innovative technology, all of which are areas where ZEISS IQS is investing heavily, according to a senior executive.

Marc Wawerla, CEO of the company, said ZEISS IQS aimed to help customers achieve success during significant transformational change, particularly in the areas of decarbonization and digitalization.

"In fact, the company has set a goal to be CO2 neutral by 2030, and is currently using only green energy. To help customers reduce their carbon footprint, it has developed products such as the air saver software, which switches off the air flow when a machine is not being used," he said.

At the CIMT, ZEISS IQS also launched two new products: the ZEISS T-SCAN hawk 2, a handheld 3D laser scanner, and ZEISS ATOS LRX, a large volume scanner. These products are designed to help customers in the wind energy industry scan wind turbine parts more efficiently and cost-effectively.

When asked about ZEISS IQS' position in the Chinese market, Wawerla noted the importance of the Chinese market, which is one of the three key markets for ZEISS IQS along with Europe and North America.

"The company has observed the rise of innovation in manufacturing in China, and is keen to help its customers succeed in this market," he pointed out.

As the global manufacturing industry chain faces restructuring or transfer due to factors such as the epidemic, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the Sino-US game, ZEISS IQS sees this as both an opportunity and a challenge.

While conflicts and shutdowns are not good for anyone, the company has observed new dynamics of globalization, with investments in China, Europe, North America, and other Asia countries. ZEISS IQS is well positioned to help its customers globalize in any direction they need to go.

Furthermore, Wawerla revealed the company’s interest in the rise of Vietnam's manufacturing industry, which is currently experiencing significant growth.

As a global company, ZEISS IQS is also investing in India, Vietnam and other countries in Southeast Asia, and is keen to help customers succeed in these markets as well, he specified.

Investing heavily in digital interconnection, industrial software, green production & emission reduction, and innovative technology, the company aims to help its customers succeed during significant transformational change, particularly in the areas of decarbonization and digitalization in the Chinese and other Asian markets, he added.
