In the summer at Taihe county, Anhui province, continuous high temperatures and a lack of rainfall have severely affected the sowing and growth of crops. Faced with such a severe drought, State Grid Taihe County Power Supply Company streamlined the application process for drought-resistant electricity, providing convenient services for farmers and guaranteeing the electricity needs for agricultural production.

In Hongshan town, Taihe county, farmer Zhu Tianzun faced difficulties when the 3.3 hectares of medicinal herbs, corn and other crops required timely irrigation. But the delaying rainfall was not cooperative. After learning about Zhu's issue, State Grid Taihe County Power Supply Company visited the fields and tailored irrigation electricity plans for him based on different regional terrains.

With the assistance of the customer manager at the Hongshan's power supply office, Zhu submitted an application for expanding his electricity usage. To Zhu's surprise, the power supply personnel arrived at the fields the next day to complete the installation and connection of the electricity meter. With the press of a button, a "timely rain" quenched Zhu's thirsty farmland.

"This year, the seeds would have almost suffocated in the ground if there was not the timely electricity. And the cost of watering was also not high," Zhu said.

In Jiuxian town, grower Fan Hengjin did not encounter difficulties in irrigating. He is currently conducting a second round of supplementary watering for his 140 hectares of sorghum and soybeans. In the fields, a 325-meter-long electric self-propelled sprinkler slowly rotates with a tower frame, supporting a long water-spraying pipe that continuously emits mist. The just-germinated sorghum seedlings, after being irrigated by the machine, grew vigorously, showing no signs of the impact of the dry weather on the fields.
