Smart home appliance maker launches new products to tap growing market

Chinese intelligent home appliance manufacturer Dreame Technology recently unveiled a variety of new products, including robotic vacuum cleaners, floor-cleaning machines and vacuum sweepers, as the company aims to grab a bigger slice of the pie in the highly competitive household cleaning appliance market.

Its latest flagship robotic vacuum cleaners are equipped with innovative obstacle recognition and self-cleaning systems.

Data from Beijing-based market consultancy All View Cloud, which specializes in home appliances research, showed that the sales revenue of cleaning appliances in China reached 16.5 billion yuan ($2.35 billion) in the first half of the year, an increase of 9.8 percent year-on-year, while sales volume amounted to 12.41 million units, up 13.6 percent on a yearly basis. 

According to global market research firm IDC, the growth rate of Dreame Technology’s robotic vacuum cleaners in terms of global shipments stood at 73.3 percent, topping the list among all vacuum cleaner makers.

Currently, the company's products are available in more than 100 countries and regions, including Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Africa and South America.

Its revenue from overseas markets surged more than 120 percent year-on-year in 2023, with global sales of robotic vacuum cleaners surpassing 2.4 million units, skyrocketing 300 percent year-on-year. Over 50 percent of its revenue came from international markets last year, the company said.
