Beijing CBD elected president of GBD Innovation Club

The Beijing Central Business District was officially selected to serve as the president of the Global Business Districts Innovation Club on Monday, with a presidential term from 2025 to 2027.

Beijing CBD, located in the capital's Chaoyang district, received the symbolic handover gift from Pierre-Yves Guice, marking its official ascension as the next president. Pierre-Yves Guice is the outgoing president of the GBD Innovation Club and the CEO of La Défense.

The GBD Innovation Club is the world's most influential non-profit organization dedicated to global business districts, with 14 member institutions from regions including Paris, San Francisco, Tokyo and Casablanca from Europe, America, Asia and Africa.

Through its own advantages, Beijing CBD successfully secured the presidentship in the election. From 2025 to 2027, Beijing CBD will project China's voice on the international stage, contributing Chinese wisdom and Beijing's experiences to the development of global business districts.

A delegation of members from the GBD Innovation Club has also commenced a three-day "Exploring Beijing" visit. They will visit various landmarks in Beijing, such as the Beijing CBD and the central axis of Beijing to experience the city's charm and development prospects.

The Beijing CBD is situated in the central part of Chaoyang district, covering an area of approximately 7 square kilometers. With five per thousand of the total area of the city, the CBD functional zone generated tax revenues of around 130 billion yuan, accounting for 8.5 percent of the city's tax revenue in 2023. Within the central district area of 7.04 square kilometers, nearly 9 billion yuan in tax revenue was generated per square kilometer.
