BLCU aims to expand international student enrolment

Beijing Language and Culture University President Duan Peng said in an exclusive interview with China Daily that the number of international students at the university reached 12,000 in 2025, a 3.5-fold increase from 2023, with degree-seeking students increasing fivefold over the same period.

The university currently ranks first nationwide in both total international student enrolment and the number of degree-seeking students.

Duan added that by the end of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), the total number of international students at the university is expected to reach 16,000.
