Wang's connection to the river is deeply personal. He grew up in Shandong province, where the Yellow River meets the sea, and that early experience continues to shape his visual language.

The Yellow River Falls from Heaven, his ongoing exhibition at Beijing's Three Shadows Photography Art Center, captures both the river's shifting landscapes and its cultural weight as a symbol of Chinese civilization. Across regions and seasons, Wang distills its varied forms into what the late artist Wu Guanzhong once described as "structural beauty with ease".

The exhibition runs until May 5.
